I have a Model 1112 I bought in New London CT back in late '82' or early '83'. The label clearly states that it was made in Conn. USA. If memory serves, the serial no. is 263601.
I'd very much appreciate it if anybody would help me discover it's actual current value
Thanks for your time and consideration. |

Value depends on condition, whether it has cracks, warped neck, etc. Assuming it is in pristine conditon, with no cracks, warpage, anything other than very light normal scratches, I would believe the value would be in the range of $300 - $400 from what I have seen on eBay. Don't believe it is that rare.
You should watch eBay for a period of time to see what other 1112s sell for and that will give you a better idea.
Any other opinions?

Thanks for the interest and the reply.
Forgive me if I seem somewhat mercenary, don't mean to. I was led to believe by a local music store that it was worth a little more than that. When I purchased it (and it's accompanying hard case) in '82', I paid 500 clams for the two. Hard to believe that it's value would decrease, especially since it's made in the US and they're all now made offshore.
It's condition is as you describe. I'm not really a player, more of blue-moon strummer. It's spent most of the 20 years I've had it quietly tucked away in it's case. It has though traveled around the world underwater, as I took it to sea with me a coupla times on the submarines I rode for the Navy. Other than a few minor "play" scratches, it's just like new in the box.
Cheers,

Ovation still has an extensive USA built line up.

Now that is not all together a bad thing. There are wonderful guitars that can be picked up for a good price. Used Ovations have to be the best guitar bargin out there. |

It would be interesting to ask the local music store how much they would actually GIVE you for the guitar. Most Ovations from that timeframe have not increased in street value. Which is a great thing for those of us who may be looking for a really nice guitar (such as yours) at a very attractive price.
