The new Op-pro has been mentioned a couple of times lately. There's a pic on the Ovation website, too small for any real detail, but here it is

Note that there aren't a row of LEDs for the tuner.....maybe the note appears on the screen?

It's going to be interesting to learn more about this pramp. For example, one of the reasons that Ovation went to the modular system is to facilitate upgrading. But the OP 50 is in a class by itself and you can't upgrade to it without adding the other output (can't remember what it's called -- somebody help me here -- it's got the pins). Can you up grade from say an OP 40 to an OP Pro? Or from an OP 50?

I'm hoping that Ovation either makes this clear in the literature next year, or on their website.

Paul, the techno-babble you were looking for is "Balanced low-impedance XLR output"

The details are on the Ovation site now.

I was surprised at the S/N ratio. Wonder if it's a typo. I would have expected it to be up in the 100db range.

Good looking preamp.

I particularly like the large volume knob, very easy to grab on the fly.

I think the modular concept is a very good one.
