Evens out the dynamic range, so the loud isn't so loud and the quiet isn't so quiet. Great stuff if you do some strumming and some fingerpicking.
I experimented with the 2007BCS through a lower end pedal that I run the electric guitar through. The cheap unit isn't terrible clean but it worked wonders in a live situation to keep the guitar in balance with the vocals. |

Location: Tampa Bay area, FL | Yes, always- both with my Adamas and my Viper. I play pretty lightly, and it makes those single notes really pop out- I love it. I use either a BYOC (build your own clone) 5 knob compressor, or the Tube compressor model in the Line6 M13. I also use an Aphex Acoustic Xciter to boost the low harmonics. |

Location: Round Rock, TX | Depending on the gig, whether or not I'm using their PA, etc. I will use some compression via my POD X3 Live, along with an occasional touch of chorus and a little reverb. I don't use a lot of any of 'em, but a judicial addition can really help, especially in some of the places I've played. |

Location: Scotland | Intelligent use of a pro-spec compressor is one of the essentials in a great amplified acoustic tone. The problem is that pedal compressors are generally designed for electric guitar tones, and studio compressors are too complex unless you are well versed in sound engineering. The Aphex Punch Factory that FlySig mentioned is a 2-knob no-brainer that just works. It's difficult to make that sucker sound bad, and it one of the very few inexpensive compressors that sounds killer with acoustic instruments. |

Location: East Tennessee | I've used a DBX "Overeasy compressor/limiter" with pretty good results, but I find in a quieter environment I didn't need it. So I usually just use a L R Baggs Para DI. |

I use None of them.
I have a vision that I might actually use the chorus pedal if I ever play outside with my Taxi battery-powered PA.
The amps that I use all have effects in them, and I may use a touch of chorus and a touch of reverb, but generally I just play acoustic. |

BBE Orange Squash or a BBE Opto Stomp? I'm pretty sure that the Aphex is top dog, but these are cheaper. |

Location: Scotland | I haven't used either, but I can tell you this much; The Orange Squash is based on the old Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer. I use one of the Armstrong OS reissues for Lap Steel and it's great, but it's way too savage for acoustic guitar. The Opto Stomp could be worth a try. Photo optical compressors are generally pretty subtle. The Aphex is the optical type. |

Location: Scotland | Yes, Bose sent me one a while ago. I love it. I was using a DBX mini comp in my acoustic setup. The T1 has replaced that and my AD5, 2 Baggs Para-Acoustic DI's and a bunch of other stuff. I've downloaded the Bose Ovation presets and the Baggs M1 presets. The compressors in the T1 are damn good. |
