Conan's website says the October show reruns tonight.

http://www.nbc.com/Late_Night_with_Conan_O'Brien/index.html

Kaki appears in the last 10 minutes of the show.

{VCR or Tivo should be considered due to the lateness of the show}

Not too often when I get to "scoop" PopCritic:

Kaki King
Saturday, February 7th
Paramus Picture Show
Paramus, NJ
www.paramuspictureshow.com

Discovered this when I went to the venue's website to research a David Bromberg concert that's being relocated there because of the closing of the historic Bottom Line in NYC (which is a total shame).

Alas, . . . . Kaki just LOVES to gig on the same nights that I do! :)

I was in Borders in San Antonio yesterday and her CD was prominently displayed at one of the listening stations in the pop/rock section. Big store, high visibility. Good for her. I still haven't seen a picture that shows all of her five arms and twenty-five fingers, though.

Another promo..

I was at Jammin' Java (Vienna, VA.) last night for a Peter Tork and James Lee Stanley acoustic set. A good show, an excellent sound system, and a coffee house ambiance.

Jammin' Java has Kaki King penciled in for a Sunday, February 8th show. With songwiter Vienna Teng. 7 p.m. $10.

No financial interest,
-Tom

Was that Peter Tork of the Monkees?

Yes, Peter, the same.

Peter Tork was an proficient East Coast folk musician before heading west and the eventual, fateful Monkee audition. Last night he played clawhammer style five string banjo standards, some bluesy, ragtime, jug band guitar tunes and electric piano. He avoided mentioning the Monkees by name but did a few tunes for an appreciative, nostalgic crowd.

James Lee Stanley, Tork's friend of some forty years, was an excellent guitarist with a more than adequate voice.

Tork shows up at some small clubs in the Village here from time to time.
