Got my 97 Collectors. I know that the limitations of the touch sentive controls have been much talked about. I find no "click" at all when changing volume and the lack of visible electronics certainly goes with the parlor feel. This is my first experience with a 12 fret and it is a real joy. Great feel and voice. Thanks to Bob Frith for straightening me out on what was normal upper register string height. Wife loves the guitars, so there you go it pays to marry well.

I've owned a '97 collectors and played probably another 6 or 7, they all had the click problem. That said, the '97 is my personal favourite of all the collectors series & I regret unloading mine. I've tried on several occasions to buy it back from the guy who bought it, but he wont let it go.

I personally am not big on the Collector's Series guitars, but the '97 would be my choice if I were to get one....

Paul, I have tried my 97 at all levels of preamp etc. I get no click whatsoever? I am using a Genz Benz Shenandoah 200. I don't know if it can filter or if there is a difference in skin contact between persons. All that was said about touch sensitive is true as far as not knowing were you are, and I have hit it my accident. But it is just unique and fun. It does automatically go to the center as you plug in. Its just a fun guitar.

As I recall, though my memory may be playing tricks here, the click is only apparent when you make a volume change while the strings are in motion. PRS rotary 5-way P/U selectors do the same thing.

Still no click even when strings are in motion. I have been playing this one all day.
