i bought a guitar with frets that have wear and they buzz a bit under the e and B strings. there is a groove worn under the e string. My thing is I like ovation guitars cause they are unique and fit my personality more than a traditional guitar.Sound wise I think they lake someting tonally. But nontheless, I like this ovation adn I hate to have to get it refretted or worse trash it all thogether.
By the way do they make gig bags for ovations?

somewhere there is a doctor who can fix that guitar just the way you want it done. Find him and your guitar will love you forever. Do it Dude.

I highly recommend taking the guitar to an Ovation warranty repair center, get an estimate and decide whether to fix it or sell and buy another one. I'm with you on the style issue. And as for sound, I bought a fairly inexpensive model (S771) and it sounds better than any all-wood guitar I own or have ever heard. Don't think I just got lucky, I think they are just great sounding guitars.

Don.

They make gig bags, but a hardshell case is a great investment.

Any good pro shop should be able to get you a good set up. You may not need to have the frets dressed if the grooves aren't deep.

You can learn to take care of your own frets using some steel wool when you change the strings, but you need to get a good set up and learn to maintain it before you start doing your own tweaking, imho.

There are good gig bags made for Ovation, but for not much more you can get an new SKB case or even a used Ovation case. The case is worth the difference, if it isn't too much.
