One of the many great features of the First Annual OFC Convention and Factory Tour was the Jam after the tour. I was thinking about this years event (I leave home 10 weeks from tonight for the trip to CT) and have a proposal:
Select a song (I haven't come up with any good suggestions on that) that we can all learn before the jam and have one big honking OFC jam tune with all willing OFC members playing along. I realize that there are limited mics and amps but with 30-40 players who needs amplification. Corny perhaps but it may be fun.

How about Innagoddadavida ... the Adamas players can take the drum solo. :p

Seriously, sounds like a plan. I'm sure everyone knows Freebird. :D

Being that we have some practice time, why not some real fun stuff.

Kashmir
Roundabout
Veteran of Psychic Wars

Just trying to think of stuff with lots of strings. If Ben Lacy can do all of the parts to Kashmir on ONE guitar, we should be able to pull it off.

Great idea! Maybe an area in the Members Section to post tabs???

When we're having a guitar get together at the house (or at the campfires in Kerrville) I always throw out Knockin' On Heaven's Door
Four chords, and everbody knows the chorus and can sing along with the "Ooo, Oooo, Ooooooooooos"...

Al

Not fair suggesting a song when you're the only one who knows all the words.

Am7b5#9dim - hmmmm....

#9 will be B# = C = 3rd
dim = minor 3rd, flat 5th, (full or half diminished?)

So it's really just an Am7b5 = half diminished

Was that a trick question, Al?

You guys are working too hard. When I see a chord like that I know it's time to stop for a second and sip a beer.

SOOOO

Now we know the words to Louie, Louie, thank you, thank you::

"654321"
"OOOOXO"
"XOXXOO"
"654321"
"OXOXOO"
"OOXOXO"

You prounounce the X like a Russian UKSHAW and it comes out perfect.

A mystery of many years has been solved.

You get an "Eh" diminished the further you go from Victoria, Canada. Otherwise known as C, eh, N, eh, D, eh!

For the words - look here:
FBI files on the Lyrics to "Louie, Louie"

My apologies in advance.
