All -
New to the forum, but wanted to share my wonderful birthday present!

My Brother-in-Law is an airbrush artist in the Seattle area, and he offered to paint one of my guitars as a birthday present.
He is a professional who makes his living painting racecars, mororcycles, etc, so I felt good about turning over a guitar to him.

I asked him to make it leopard spots - I have been into rockabilly lately, and thought it would be fun!

It came out GREAT! I'm really happy!

It was clearcoated with some added gold pearl, so it kinda "sparkles" a little. (VERY cool!)

That must evoke some comments when you're playing! Looks like he did a great job. Notice any difference in sound after painting?

Thanks, Guys.

I am DEFINITELY into the Stray Cats, and have been listening to some vintage rockabilly lately, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Carl Perkins sort of stuff.

I picked up this DVD of the Brian Setzer Orchestra live in Japan... Whoa Baby! That guy can PLAY!

I really can't tell any difference in the sound before and after painting - If you look REALLY close, you can see a slight rippling of the face of the guitar, but it does not seem to have affected the tone...

I'll pass your comments on my brother-in-law... He's painted hundreds of guitars, but was really tickled about how this one came out...
