This is a pic of my nine-year old son, Blaine, playing his favourite guitar, a six-string Bluebird. He has finally been showing some interest in learning to play the guitar since his music class has begun teaching guitar lessons (I mean, really, how many people actually ever continue to play the Recorder??).
Seen here playing "Smoke On The Water" (is this music teacher of his really only thirty years old?) and doing it quite well. He has had about four years of piano lessons so has some pretty good music fundamentals to draw from and should do pretty well if he keeps at it.
Anyone else have pics of any secoond or third generation Ovationists (great term, Bailey) that they could post?

Great Pic! You should send that one over to Ken S. and see if he'll forward it to GC.

My son who's 10, just started with guitar lessons and the guitar that motivates him to practice is my Viper Deluxe. We're watching ebay now for a Viper he can call his own (so Dad can get his guitar back!).

Wayne,

Great pic!

We just got our seven year old daughter one of those "starter guitars" (you know, the kind you get at Wal Mart for around $40.00) for Christmas, and I've been having the time of my life introducing her to the joys of "pickin' & grinnin'!"

Your son will have quite a story to tell later on in regards to the history behind his "first guitar!"

Paul and Jeff (or anyone else, for that matter), you guys should should post pics of your young guitar players too...we are too far apart geographically to flip open the wallet and show off the kids so this is the next best thing!

Charlieb, which Fender did you like, amp or guitar? Amp is a '62 Bassman, guitar is a '53 Esquire, which is a Tele without the neck pickup.
