Is it better to experiment with one at a time first? |

Location: Scotland | The single most important thing about using the Shark is getting the input gain right. It tells you how to do this in the manual. From my exerience it's best to set the feedback filters with the narrowest bandwidth, steepest notch & low sensitivity. It will take a little longer to lock on to the feedback but it won't mess with your tone. Unless you use drop tunings set the high pass filter at 82Hz. Use the Shark after the Baggs.
As for the Baggs, start with the controls flat, and your amp or console flat, adjust the guitar's onboard EQ till it's as good as it will get (avoid big cuts or boosts, keep them to 2-3dB) Then fine tune from the Baggs. |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | The only thing I would add is to setup your guitar without the Shark inline first. Get the maximum volume/eq of the system setup in the clear and see where the real threshold is, best sound and such. I do this because a lot of times the EQ of the system will be way off, causing you to be compensating for things that may be an easy fix at the board or otherwise. It's just a precaution to have the best sound you can, than bring on the tools to keep it that way. |

Location: On the beach in Southwest Florida | Thanks much for the info. I have notch filters on the preamp (OP40) & the power amp (Peavy Ecoustic 112). Should I not use those when using the Shark/Baggs combo? |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Oh yes, with the Shark you would not need anything else. By "Tools" I was referring to the Shark. Get everything prestine without it, then kick it, set it up if necessary, and no worries. |

Location: Scotland | Oh yes I can, the internal compressor in the Shark isn't great. I have a DBX compressor in my acoustic rig. |
