I really need to get the tailpiece on my Thunderhead re-plated and would like your suggestions as to who does this type of work.

Or, does anyone sell that particular tailpiece? Since I am the original owner of this axe, I really want to keep it as original as possible.

Horrible but purty. LOL!

The pickups are DeArmond, but the tailpiece I would think would be Schaller, too.........and probably no longer made.

One was a bigsby but I guess you're talking about the nontrem one. Probably Schaller. Maybe they still make them. Does StewMac carry Schaller? or one of those other distributors?

I just checked StewMac and...zilch! I am still web searching, though.

And thanks cwk2! I am one of your biggest fans (along with your father, of course) and an exclusive Ovation player since '67. Even played Ovations on a national TV show for 5 years.

I really want to get this Thead in top shape as I bought it new in '71. I was years 2 old. ;)

Try Allparts, they have several Trapeze tailpieces, though not exactly like the original
