If your 1537 is like mine, it sounds the best when played near a reflective surface or in the hands of another player (because the guitar projects outward, not due to you're playing skills ) :D Bradley

Not even a small peek to see if you might have a slight, growing, burning, GASeous, uncontrollable, irresistable, mad desire to make a small insignificant bid. GAS NEVER SLEEPS!!

The sound is everywhere...yet it still sounds better when someone esle plays it. I gotta go...trying to learn a Richard Thompson tune.( I might be busy the rest of the day--or life)

My expectations are reltiveely low and I think I would be happy to just get the changes down with a simple, yet passable, picking pattern. I also have the sheets for Vincent Black Lightning 1952... hahahaa, ah, right, like that'll happen any time soon. I have seeen RT live countless times over the last 20 years and will be seeing him again in March down in Ashville (yes, I travel long distances to see him...which makes me a "dickhead" I think). He is, hands down the finest guitarist I have ever seen not to mention his singing/songwriting.

Like you Jeff trying to use a simple picking pattern with the chord changes. I found this Al Bowly song here, Guitar Guy Web Site, I wasn't sure what Al Bowly ever did, but it's "Got A Date With An Angel". Thought it would be cool to do that then go right into "Al Bowly's in Heaven". Interesting note, I have a good singer songwriter friend that played a Richard Thompson song at church (!), she learned it from our minister who is from Wales and is a big RT fan - she's not familiar with RT except for that song, and I was sitting around the campfire at Kerrville two years ago and this guy sits down with a resonator guitar and was doing some fantastic fingerpicking, I told him reminded me of RT, he proceeded to play "Vincent..." dead on - he, too, wasn't familiar with RT, learned it from somebody else who plays in a biker bar and the biker's alway's ask for it!!

To date I haven't heard even decent covers by well known capable, muscians including Greg Brown and Del McCrory and others. Maybe, I should start to frequent biker bars. Al Bowley is a great tune. And Bailey... As for the temptation to peep on e-bay to alliviate a little GAS...I have put the parental lock on that section, taken up hypnotherapy, trained my dog to bite me when she hears me type the word "guitar"...ow..stop...down girl... oh, by the way have you seen this... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3702854679&category=33029
