I half remember someone saying that they liked these, but I can't find the post.

Much like Ovation, these are extremely under-rated guitars. Lots and lots of attention to detail. THe early ones made in TX, later ones made in Japan, but all of extreme quality. They were in the $1000 range in the 80's. One detail that really gets me is the access cover is made of wood and inset. They play and sound fantastic.

The early Daion acoustics were pretty nice. Famed LA/Nashville session guitarist Billy Joe Walker has used a parlor-sized Daion for most all of his acoustic stuff in the last 20 years.

Just in addition, I found this link that is pretty good.

http://home.att.net/~daion/

The price list here from '82 shows them just under $1K, but I remember seeing a price list that was higher. Not really important, they are great guitars. Never tried the acoustics. Just loved the exotic woods and attention to detail. Note the triple-screw adjustment for the active pickups. These also were neck-thru guitars. They just rock.
