Thought maybe that the different bowl required might make that unavailable for now. Obviously, I could call a dealer and ask (they would of course have to call Ovation), but thought someone here might know. Thanks. But I want a cutaway as well (in case I ever learn chords above the 3rd fret -- I'd probably go hog wild and go all the way up the neck). The Al DiMeola has the deep bowl, but the material in the bowl is not the newer lighter material. I also don't know if the AD incorporates the newer neck construction. I want all the components that make an LX an LX, but with a deep bowl.

It would depend on how much extra the custom charge would be for deep bowl on a Legend LX. The AD model on the web is roundly $1600. The way I am going, I may change my mind about cutaway....my ME 12-string is much easier to play than my GC. The neck on the GC feels too short (12-fret, no cutaway). I like to play chord variants up to the 9th fret, although I am a straight-ahead chord wacker. I can't see getting acoustic only at this point....too many reasons to have the capability to plug in. Probably would INCREASE the cost, too...the only reason to me to get acoustic only is if it costs less. And textured top???? Not sure what you mean, Peter. Roger 1976 Applause AA14-4 6-String 1981 Ovation 1118-1 Glen Campbell 12-string 2001 Adamas 1598-MERB Melissa Etheridge 12-String 2003 Celebrity CC01 Spruce Top 6-String

I played one when I bought my ME 12-string at Huber & Breese and HATED it big time. To those of you who like them, more power to you, it just didn't float my boat.... Hey, more power to Tony...I'd have six 30th Anniverary Custom Legends if I could swing it!!! :) One tuned to low E, one tuned to A, etc.....and play each guitar like a string!!!! Maybe it is just a sloppy technique but to me it was enough to distract. I would love my future LX to have a deep bowl. But like Moody said, I bet it will not be available. Remember in the G.A.C. televison show how different the bowl looked where the neck is attached? Brad

Obviously, you can get the LX top on a deep bowl. But I want the deep bowl to also take the new neck design.
