Surfing through Ebay and saw this Ovation. Looking at the label I've got to ask if there were several "custom" labels attached to instruments. For that matter were there special issues for certain stores? Any noteworthy units come to mind.

Yes, there are certain runs of guitars made specifically for the large stores such as Guitar Center and Sam Ash. Generally these are minor deviations in configuration, color, etc. Dave

Dave is correct. I haven't seen one with the custom label before, tho.

This one is cool. A Legend model with a Folklore/Country Artist rosette....

Mike, This is basically a Legend with tha CA rosette. Looks from the label that they call it a 1777. I must say this is a pretty nice lookng guitar. Hmmmmm ... I guess I would call it a GCLC. Dave

I just checked the Ovation website, and it turns out that the current #1777 is a mid-depth Legend model WITH the oak leaf rosette as pictured on the one on eBay.

Not to be confused, of course, with the #1777LX....

I think the "standard" Legend looks like this one at Elderly Instruments, though....

http://www.elderly.com/new_instruments/items/1777-NAT.htm

Interesting rosette. I personally prefer the regular one, but that's me....also, I would not be happy to have this big "GUITAR CENTER" logo on my label!!!!

Anyone notice that the rosettes are different between 6- and 12-string Legends??? The 6-strings appear to have a thinner one with finish showing at the sound hole, the 12s have the more "classic" full rosette all the way up to the edge.

Chat room??? There's a chat room???

Unless you're a fan of vintage Marshall amps in which case "JTM" is the holy grail - as in JTM45, Or as us Fender amp fans like to call them........ "POS45"
