After watching my 1117 Legend crack from bridge to base last winter, I moved all of my guitars into one room (had to throw my youngest outside with the dogs...hey priorities!)bought a small room humidifier and humidity gauge, and sleep much easier at night!
I keep all my gutiars out on stands year round, so's I can readily play them. I tried the rubber soundhole humidifiers, but find it much easier to keep one room humidifier full, rather than dunking a bunch of little ones everyday. I think I spent like $35.00 for a good room humidifier.

Location: Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey | I finally invested in a room humidifier for my basement / rehearsal area but it is a large area and lately it's been so cold and dry here in NJ, the humidifier can only manage to keep the room at around 35%. I normally keep all of my guitars in their cases and use a "Kyser" soundhole humidifier in each case when needed.
I also invested in an air conditioner and de-humidifier for the summer months. My wife wanted to know why I don't invest as much in her comfort. I quickly changed the subject as NO good can come from answering that one. ;) |
