i bought a magnum III solid body bass last year and have really enjoyed playing it.
It has been defretted, so I've had fun getting used to that. I've got a couple of problems with it though:

1. The scratchplate is broken just around the jack input. I think this is common on this bass model, and I have seen several magnum IIIs with little metal plates around the jack input. Does anyone know where I might get a new scratchplate?

2. When I play a fretted note on the E string, warbles a bit, it sounds a bit like a flange effect. it sounds fine when i play it open...i'm not sure what the cause might be - I can see no obvious physical problems - might it be the pick up?

thanks
dan
