While I was restringing my 12-string, I noticed that some of the winding posts on the tuners were loose (wobbly) and some were tight (straight and stiff). The tuners themselves felt right and function properly.

Should I be concerned about these?

I had that happen on my old Ibanez 12 string.
I tightend them and got a bunch of string buzz.
The guitar had extremely low action as it was so I lossened the "Posts" to where they were, played perfectly. So I don't think if they are loose it is a bad thing. As long as you don't have a problem I wouldn't worry.

I have had loose pegs that were cured by tightening the nut that is around the peg...

I am also sure that at least one of guitar has pegs that feel loose, and it cannot be fixed by the nut...
But as yet that has not affected the playability, or I'd be here asking how to fix it too.

So... The short answer is-- If it works, and don't jam-up or anything, you should be fine.

... and here I thought this was going to be commentary on how the discussions usually flow around here.

It's still early in this thread. Give it time.

All the loose posts are on the E, A, D, and the wound G. I had previously snugged all the nuts (OK... stop snickering). There is no buzz while playing or pinging while tuning (as far as I recall).
