This is an extremely rare guitar. I am thankful that I do not own the 6 string version, because this one would be impossible to pass up. The matched pair would be an absolute unique Ovation collectable. Dave

Not taking anything away from the guitar - listing agent must have been so excited, just doubt you'd find it in the Martin catalog.

Millenium - was this a limited issue for yr 2000?
Was this just 6-strings, other than this listing? Number made? Any real difference other than inlays and limited edition?

Damn but Martin certainly makes an Ovation-looking guitar. I don't recall seeing one like it at the Martin area at NAMM.

I know two OFC members who own the 6 string version. Maybe they can comment on the guitar. I played one of theirs and it was very nice for a modern Adamas. Definately a collectable guitar. Dave

hmmmmmmmmm.... i'm sittin here lookin at the pics... and thinkin... if martin re-did this as a twelve... did they call O and order a twelve string neck (that ain't no six string head on that thing) strip off the millenium fretboard from the original and put the fretboard on a twelve neck?.... or did they get a twelve neck and redo the inlay???? it sure looks like an adamas neck... i don't remember the millenium in a twelve configuration... how did they did that if the millenium only came in a six... if it is a redone six... what about the additional stress of six more strings? is the bracing the same on 12's and 6's? why not send it to ovation for the redo? why would a martin luthier even do a custom ovation? tooooooo many questions.... somethin is stanky here, me thinks.... just doesn't seem logical that a 6 could be flipped to a 12 that easily... can we see the invoice spec'ing the work that was done????? curiousity is killin me.

Jim, I think the "Martin" reference in the ad was just a brain cramp by the lister...unless I am missing some cheeky humour in your posting. In that case, it is my brain that is cramping!
