Joined: February 2004 Posts: 11 Location: Florida | I just bought a "Purple" Ovation UKII. I have a letter from dated August 2001 from AirKaman of Jacksonville that says this particular guitar and another were part of a 24-piece collection owned (supposably) by Charles Kaman. The hand-written letter reads: "as Production of the UK2 Closed down I set aside two dozen guitars. these two UKII's are from thos 24 guitars that have been part of my collection for all these years." It is signed but I can only make out a "C" and maybe a "K". The serial number of on this guitar is: E 19209. I took the aft pickup out to see if the color was original. The inside was the same color. If it isn’t the original color someone took the guitar completely apart and re-finished the guitar with the same kind of poly-acrilic coating Ovation used! Behind the covers for the volume and tone knobs and the upper switch it has the same aluminum foil as I have seen on other UKIIs. The guitar as far as I can tell it is made out of the same special (I forget what they called it) material as other UKIIs Another weird thing about this guitar is that all the hardware is chrome, and instead of the large pearl inlays it has small pearl circles like my 2001 1861 Balladeer. The nut is also not brass like I have seen on other UKIIs it is made out of plastic or at least the same kind of material similar to the material used on my 1861. I plan on calling Ovation and getting the no s*** answer on this one. The guitar looks like it is about 2 months old. If anyone knows anything about this please let me know. I can send pics to anyone who doesn’t believe me or is just interested.

Hey guys I really don't want this to be a boys club only, or adults only site etc. I want it to be fairly open to anyone of all age groups etc. I can have the foulest mouth of anyone but try to keep the comments on the board clean so that if your son or daughter wanted to look at the board you would not be ashamed of what they see. I am not against profanity but profanity for profanity sake is just dumb.

Nice Color. What colors were they available in?

At the top is a "utitity" button that will step you through uploading. You can copy the link when you upload your picture, or later when viewing the picture by using the "right click/properties" method. Once the picture is uploaded and you have the link, just create your post and choose the URL or IMAGE button that will prompt you for the link you copied. If of course the pictures is already online someplace, you can just link to it. FYI, It's usually better to link to a picture (in the gallery or otherwise) rather than post it in the thread anyway as people with dailups really get cranky when downloading pictures in threads. Hope this helps.

Or at least keep the file down to a reasonable size, say, 150k or less. Wayne
