Location: Florida | I'm extremely excited about this guitar. I get a tingle every time I look at it. I have researched the previous posts on ukII and cwk2 mentions the purple ovation in a couple of posts. I think I have it but I want to hear it from the man himself (I just figured out that cwk2 stands for Charles William Kaman II) Please let me know. :D |

(Cliff, how was that? 4 times in one answer and a double contraction too!) |

Location: Florida | Thanks cwk2. I will definitely enjoy it. I do have a few questions about it.
Why purple?
Is it a viper neck on a UKII body?
Was it the only purple UKII ever made?
When was it made?
Is there a story behind it, like who made it and what was their goal and/or impression of it?
Did you get to play it and what did you think of it?
Did you write the letter that came with it?
Any interesting facts about the guitar?
I really love the guitar. I plan on keeping it indefinitely and passing it on to my kids.
Thanks again! |

Yeah, I did at one time, . . . but Mom said that if I didn't stop I'd go blind. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | why purple? why not. we also did green metallic, dog shit brown metallic and a bunch of others.
Viper neck? Maybe, I don't remember, measure the scale. We made a red metallic with a maple neck that was nice.
pretty sure that's the only purple
made at the end of the production run, around 81
story? trying out different ideas for a lower priced one (dots and chrome and paint grade necks)
did I play it, yes
did I write the letter, yes
anything else, yes, go enjoy it and play the hell out of it. |
