| Is it my imagination, or is Ovation selling many NEW guitars to board members? I wonder if Ovation is selling a lot to non board members. Anyone have any idea? |

Sorry!
There have been a lot of new purchases mentioned on the board. I would love to see some sales stats - especially with a break out on LX series. |

Location: Shelton, Washington, USA | fwiw: my last three purchases were new O's. that's been since 99. my other O's were new purchases as well, but further back in time... only bought two used over the years.
as mentioned... there have been a lot of new O's purchased by board members.... it would be interesting to see just how many O's our 2200+ members account for.... |

Location: SoCal | I've only purchased 3 new Ovations. The first was in 1972 and was an Artist, 1121. The second was a Legend in 1978, 1117, and the last was an Adamas 12 string in 1993, 1688. Every other Ovation I have was purchased used, and that's 8 Ovations.
I'm probably going to special order an LX later this year, but I'm bummed that I can't get it with a deep bowl without sacrificing the new neck system and lighter bowl. |

I thought the 1769- ADII is deep and has the "new" LX Bracing?
Check the Al D. (Cliff) just put on the board.
Woz.
PS. Al, what is the "new" ADII going for?
I went back to "see" if the ADII was deep... It is but... I don't think it has the LX Bracing. ADII is "tied" to the LX story... I started to twitch... It's GAS. It's been building. |

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | I have the four guitars listed with my sig...I am about to get a new Ovation of some form, maybe a Standard Elite LX or Legend LX, maybe a regular Legend mid-bowl, depends on what takes my ear's fancy that I can find, or possibly order through a local shop. The CC01 will be exiting as a trade-in in favor of it, so it will be purchased locally. Upgrade time!
The Applause was purchased NEW in January 1977, the ME 12-string was purchased NEW in November 2003, the GC 12-string was purchased USED in January 2004(I am the SECOND owner), the CC01 Celebrity was purchased NEW in September 2003.

The ADII has the new scalloped X bracing, but not the new materiel in the bowl. It also has a Kaman Bar, not the new system. |
