Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Y'all ain't missing much. This is just a corporate conspiracy to make us buy new TV's.
Right now, a 30 year-old color TV will pick-up an analog signal better than a new TV. I know, cuz I've given-away three in the past year.
Plus, most American households have 3 or 4 perfectly good TV's, and you can buy a good working TV at Goodwill or the Salvation Army Thrift Store for $10.
But you really need a wide digital signal for your 4-foot High Definition TV.
So they need to change the format so people will buy new TV's. Which would be good for the economy if they all weren't made in China. It don't matter if it sez Zenith, Magnavox or RCA on it, the little sticker on the back sez Made in China. |
