This board has got me digging up some old nostalgia. Here I am playing my '72 Thunderhead ... in March of 1973 and in February of 2004.

Not only is it the same guitar - it's also the same strap and the same t-shirt.

Do you still have that Acoustic amp that's in the background?

That Acoustic amp was really nice. I think it was a 450 head and a 104 cabinet. I traded it for a brand new Legend in '74. Yes, Paul the shirt was washed plenty of times. It's pretty thin in the threads after 31+ years. Dave

I can assure you that the only reason the shirt is a bit "tight" after 31 years is that it has shrunk due to repeated washings (ha ha).

Actually an interesting story about the Thunderhead. It is the very same guitar now and then. but I did not own it continuously. I made a big mistake in selling it in 1974 because I needed money. Years later I missed it so much that I found an "identical" one. The serial number was vaguely familiar, but when I removed the neck I was stunned to find my initials scibed on the neck block from many years earlier. I referred to the original purchase reciept and verified by serial that this was in fact my very own guitar which I had bought again. What an unbelievable coincidence. I wrote the long version of this story last year on this board. There were some other interesting twists and characters about this whole thing.

Very interesting story, Dave. I wish I could find my 1973 Ovation Legend that was STOLEN!
