Location: Wisconsin | Hi guys! I'm new to the club. I have only one Ovation, but play it all the time and love it. I am in the market to get a 12 string. On ebay there is a guitar that is a Model 1736 and is stated to be a Legend Elite. From the serial number I know that it was built in 1985, but on Ovation's website I can't get any information about the Model 1736. Does anybody have any information or access to information about this model? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to learning more about these awesome guitars from you guys! |

Location: SoCal | Ovation made this guitar from about 1984 to the mid 1990's. It was a deep bowl Elite 12 string. Heck of a good guitar. I believe that the reason they stopped make them was that Ovation was moving more towards the supershallow bowls on their 12 strings (or mid depth -- at any rate, they were moving away from the deep bowl 12's). |

You can go to the reference section of this board and check suggested retail prices for Ovations at the time they were produced. The 1736 is listed there.
