i've been digging through the archives here... and a few things came to mind....

1) thank you Miles and Al. this is without a doubt the best site for ovations.

2) thank you all members. i got here in 2002 shortly after the board fired up. i still can't believe all the knowledge here. all the ppl who have been in the business forever... all the ppl who have been playing forever.... all the information. it can't be matched.

3) thank you, everybody for putting up with all the silly shit i have posted over the last 2 years. i wish i knew as much as i thought i did. boy, i'd be somethin' then.

i am glad this board is here for me to get my daily fix. i feel like i know many of you after reading your posts for so long.

guess i've rambled on long enough with another of my silly posts....

just wanted to say thanks.

Jim, I feel the same way....

Now, what I'd like to know is how you get your wife to tolerate your guitars being named after ladies....I tried to name the ME 12-string "Melissa" and got shot down COLD. :D

sadly, roger, i no longer have a wife. just me and my sons. they don't seem to mind that the girls are named. but they do begrudge the time that could be spent tickling or wrestling with them... you know... important stuff.

The true test of how much we all like it here is how nuts we get when the site's down. Not that I noticed, either time. Miles, keep that bill paid!(lol)!

I am so new to this site it hurts!
I new this was a good site when I read the first message posted. I have been learning since. I have been heavy with the postings and plan to slow down but this is new and I have so many questions? You know it is a good site when you see guy's who have been on for a long time still actively posting answers to tedious Questions from Newbies like me.
I have to figure they have already answered some of these more then twice already.
Let me thank you all from a new guy who appreciates the Humor and honest, educated, opinions and solutions you-all have posted for me this last week! .... Your Hosts are Aces also.... I have bought from Al perhaps I can do some recording in the future as well! I am sure the quality will be over the top like everything else I have found here! Randy

I have to admit that I name my guitars as well, well actually I give my wife the options and she picks the final name. She actually gets a kick out of it. Jiminos I also like your name of your last guitar. I too have a "Faith" in my small collection.

I've always enjoyed your posts from way back. I just saw from another post here that you were in San Diego in '75 and '76, that's when I lived in Poway, I'm surprised we didn't cross paths. I would like to say that the best posts are those that express an opinion and describe some experiences with music, and yours always seemed to fill that bill. I say don't apologize for being yourself, that's what makes life good.

I totally agree with the sentiments expressed thus far. This OFC is truly amazing. I have seen and experienced total strangers "bending over backwards" to help another member just because they are fellow Ovationites. :D (Thanks again Al, Cliff and Tony)! ;)

There seems to be a level of integrity common to "O Heads" that is getting more and more rare in the world these days. It must be the very high intelligence inherent in "We who Ovation"!

I just realized that "Ovation" can be used as a verb!: To "Ovation" = to do anything with clarity, intensity, integrity, intelligence and beauty.

What Tim said they said! Only not as clear and with a few tangent topics mixed in. :D

In more ways than you know this board has helped me realize that I am part of a much larger caring community. Musically, Spiritually and Financially!

Don't say Tangent, or MOB. You don't want to start all that again..........

Sometimes I set around and say things like "Yucaipa", "Calaveras", "Borrego", "Chula Vista", and even "Poway", because it makes everything else seem sensible. But never MOB or Tangent or even Taylor, these gentle words seem to lead to verbal fisticufs.

"steaming runny pile of baby dog spoo" has to be my all time favorite descriptive phrase.

steaming pile of runny dog spoo on the new carpet.

I have never named my guitars although I must admit that the last two have acquired names. One is Mevnn (sounds like Mevin)and the other is Clarence. The first is just what the guitar is, Maple, Engleman, Vintage Neck(width), Natural (it's a Collings OM) and the other is a Collings CW-28 which is their Clarence White issue guitar. Most of you can figure out how the name came about. I hope this doesn't keep up, I'm not good with names.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I named my first guitar Annie from the John Denver song. A little sappy, but hey... it was the 70's.

Keeping in line with the thread, I would also like to thank Miles and Al for such a great site and Cliff for telling me about it. If it wasn't for the OFC, I would actually have to do work all day!
