Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | I was asked to assist in finding a tech (slightly) solution to scoring and arranging music.
I know there are plenty of software tools out to accomplish this, but I am only familiar with what Cakewalk Sonar offers, so I thought I would get input from others.
The scenario is that a music director is writing and arranging the scores by hand, and writing the lyrics on them etc...
I envision, just hook up a midi-keyboard to computer and play the tunes/part into xx software. Adjust the notes afterward on the screen. Type in the lyrics. Print.
That's essentially how Sonar works, but that package is a bit overkill. I recall there being specific software available for scoring music, in this or similar manner.
Anyone used any? Recommendations from someone who uses something they like? etc etc.
Thanks in advance. |

Location: NJ | I've heard a lotta good things about Sibelius, as well . . .
I've never used it, but evidently it works seemlessly with my FreeHand digital tablet(compose/edit in Sibelius, "print" to the tablet . .)
. . but, like I said, I never used it. |
