Hey all, about a year ago I bought a used Fender Acoustasonic Pro to use with my 35th Anniversary model Ballader and all was right with the world. But I then happened across a very mint UKII with a beautiful case to match, which I immediately bought. My problem is what should I use to get the best sound from an accoustic amp with a solid body guitar.I don't play in public but want to get the best sound out of the gear I have available. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!!

Any of the dozens of amp modellers will do the job. Pod, Berhingher V-amp, Sansamp, there's tons of them. Which is "best" is a matter of taste, how many sounds/effects you need & how much you like reading technical manuals. For simplicity of use & quality of tone the Sansamp is hard to beat.

Digitech do a range of Amp modellers called I think "Genesis" They're a desktop modeller similar to the Johnson J-Station/Pod type of thing. I haven't used one personally but Digitech make good gear so they should be fine. There's 2 or 3 models and they start pretty inexpensive.

Thanks for the input. Very succinct and useful as always. And since the gear I need sounds pretty reasonably priced, I can wear the thin helmet when I tell the ol' ball and chain I need a new toy. Oh boy!!!

I have a Digitech RP7 that I have found to be pretty cool. It has all the usual "suspects" in terms of effects, wah pedal, speaker cabinet simulator, etc., and has a tube as well. I actually (Paul T, PLEASE stop reading here... :D I know, I know... The Boss AD-5 is next on the wish list...) play my 1612 thru it at Church. I tweaked the EQ a bit for an OK sound. My Ibanez electric sounds awesome thru it.
