Seems the more I play my Legend LX, the more I like it. The sound is so rich, and it just fills a room. When you play a chord and feel the top behind the brige, you can really feel the top vibrating. Seem the whole guitar just rings. What a guitar! :)

It's good to see someone having so much fun! Your joy at your LX sparked a question for me though.

The fret height of the Elite LX necks - are they any different than other O's, past O's or other makes. While the action is good I can feel the height difference and the surface is curved. I checked my other brand guitars and though they are somewhat worn in (or out) they don't seem to have the same configuration. It may also be I only had used toys until my kids got older.

Any learned comments on the fret configurations?

My new non-LX 1777 is pretty good at filling a room with sound, too. I see that Elderly Instruments FINALLY got a 1771-LX and a 1777-LX in stock today. Maybe I'll finally get a chance to compare.

For reference, they're asking $849 for the 1771-LX and $1050 for the 1777-LX.

I purchased the 1777LX at Musicians Friend last week for $999.free shipping included. This guitar is a true beauty. Sounds as good, if not better, than you would expect. I own a Custom Legend 1619 1981, that I love. I also own a Taylor 514CE. I'll tell you this LX is the best of the lot. Sound, unplugged, top and bottom acoustic. Action, like a strat. Plugged in, it's got em all beat.

Gentlemen and Ladies...prices quoted by Roger and Tommy are higher than what I paid for the Legend LX...

Obviously, we can buy wherever we want. I got great service and a great price.

The Legend LX is for me the best guitar I have ever owned. I got to record with it today, and it blew me away! This is the kind of guitar you just want to play and play. I cannot say enough good things about the Legend LX. Well I could, but it would take to long. :D

Re..Fret height is the same, fingerboard process is diffrent. Process to hone changed, can't go into details as I am sworn to silence, take the tour this month and let them explain it...the new process is better. My fingers are cracked and bleeding, the only thing that will heal them is badger piss or some product with a badger on the can applied overnight, good to go in the morning.

RE Shhhhhhhh...

I know something is diferent. I think they are wider. Any way my calus' is getting better. Probably have manly mediums on everything soon.
Look familiar?
!

Thanks for the heads up and especially for the lovely LX I have in my hot hands!

If you happen to have the 12 strings running by summer I think I need a Birthday guitar

Fret wire is the same as in the past. With the advanced neck system, the body joint hump is gone. The neck is straight from one end to the other. Not having to hone half of the frets to get them level leaves them slightly higher.
