The original " What is a factory second guitar" was off to a great start before being side tracked... I would like to hear opinions, experience, and defininition of what a factory 2nd and FRG Ovation is. What is the difference between a FRG and a 2nd? Would you buy one??? Sorry.. I know some of the answers are contained in the original thread... Could you guys please re enter your inputs on this thread? And PLEASE... Only contribute to this thread if you own, owned, have experience with (good or bad), or thinking of owning, etc... a known FRG or factory 2nd Ovation... No inputs from disgruntled used ovation owners who want to vent... There is another thread for that... I honestly feel that information collected here will be invaluable to current / future members who own or are considering owning one...

It wasn't for at least 10 years before I was sure what the finish flaw was and I still had to do acrobatics to see it. The other more recently was a 2001 Collectors. I know it has a finish flaw someplace, but the thing I'm seeing is a guess really. As far as FRG's... I have bought many FRG items other than guitars. Most of them came to be FRG's as store returns and such. Most came with at least a minimal warantee and I never had a problem. My thouhts on FRG guitars would be, that some tech had to go over the guitar, yet one more time after it was returned or from overstock or whatever to check it out. That can't be a bad thing. I'd would buy either if I liked the guitar.
