( those around here have little experience with Ovation guitars ) , something to do with keeping the bowl from sliding. 2) Sending it to factory = Costly ! Shipping overseas , insurance. 3) Sending it to " Duesenberg " , who recently accuired one ( Germany ) = Costly ! Overhere there are those who are " Pro " , and those who are " Con " , and that a major American guitar mfg. experienced some problems with it , does not improve matters much. The general consensus overhere is , that , an experienced Luthier can do it just as good , with the accent on " experienced " , but overhere there are a few , furthermore , to be known as experienced , takes a decade or so , all the same , it leaves me in a dilemma . I do n`t see it as a laughing matter. Vic

On an acoustic -- imho not at all necessary. _____ gh1 _____

From what they say, it delivers a setup better than even the most skilled person. That's impressive. Not sure its worth the money, though. My Koala is about due for a dress. I wonder if anyone has one anywhere near here...

They sound like good guys, and said they were very accommodating when they know customers come in from out of town. $160 for the basic Plek job, plus whatever else they decide to do (new nut, etc). I think I'm going to go for it. I've got a brother in Chicago I need to visit, and some friends I'd like to see, so I'm going to try to put this together for sometime in the next month or two. ps. One of their tech's cut his teeth at Hamer back in the 1980's.

" --------------------------------------------- I hope you will , and let us know about it , I have but only three Ovation guitars - 1537 - 1617 - 1618 , but other than ( at last ) a refret for the first two , I`ve never experienced trouble with them ( knock on wood ) , allthough the 1617 looks like something the cat has dragged in , what with finish -cracks and the like , yet , has aged more graciously than I have , but..., with hardly any frets left , enfin , ye get the picture , and , sending them to the U S A just for that... Overhere no -one at this moment is " big enough " to justify the expense of purchasing that machine , but if the PLEK is that good , then a trip to germany could be in order :) Vic
