You know for some reason it does look tiny in that photo but it is an OM size so just a bit below a Dread.....same basic size as the Tak EF75.

High praise from someone not overly fond of cutaways!

Beal and I both snuck in a few chord strums during the end of the tour. All I can say is that I can't wait to play it for a few months and listen to it start to open up.

Here are the actual specs on it:

COLLINGS OM2HCSB-G-SS-PYR SHORT SCALE

* Indian rosewood back and sides
* Master grade German spruce top
* Ebony fingerboard and pyramid bridge
* Herringbone purfling and Ivoroid binding (body only on the binding)
* Nickel Waverly tuners
* 24-7/8" short scale length
* 1 3/4" nut width
* no fretboard markers
* Cutaway
* Sunburst
* Pickguard in the case
* Rose inlay on headstock
* Calton case

SHOULD BE ARRIVING TODAY!!!! so I will take some more photos and post them up in a few days.

Lambchops was her nickname. Damn fine woman in the best West Texas tradition. Blonde, blue eyes, and they wrote a song about her causing traffic accidents when she wore her blue jeans.

24 hours???

I'd have to seriously medicate myself to wait that long.

HA! Too late to change your advice on me now.
I got it sitting in the studio in the box.

I will probably take it out of the box later tonight but not open the case until after (ugh) work tomorrow.

It is relatively warm in Portland, being a city and all...
When I got my really Green 1771 the box was warm, the case was warm, it was 65 degrees outside...
When opened it, I touched the neck it was Ice Cold!
I closed the lid, said a prayer, and waited awhile.

The guitar had come from Basalt, CO.
When I told the tale to the seller, he said... "Oh yeah, It snowed in the valley last night."

So patience might be prudent.

I have to do the same thing when I replace any goldfish that have died - leave them in their own bag and place it in the large bowl until the water reaches the same temperature and then 'release' them.

Proves there is method in the madness

Well, pulled it out of the shipping container last night after it had been sitting inside for about 10 hours and moved it upstairs (still in the case) to the studio which is about 45-50% humidity and about 65-75 degrees.

Having already seen it, held it, and played it makes it a bit easier to wait.

I plan to open up the case first thing when I get home from work....approximately 6-7 hours!

Pics to follow......
