Location: Fayetteville, NC | There have been some good vocal performances and Some really BAD Vocal Performances. The Amazing thing to me is that John Stevens is still There !!
And he's not all that great. Jenifer Hudson who was one that I thought would continue to be in the running. Voted off This Past Week and that vote even pissed the judges off!
American Idol may have run it's Course with this show. Since i'm in Radio, There's always alot of talk about the show on the air. but general consenses is in from here in Fayetteville,NC to Radio Stations in the Capital City of Raliegh.
Most feel that if John Stevens wins,..most will never watch American Idol again. Can't say as I blame them.
On the other genre of Country. The uSA Network is on it's second Season of Nashville Star,..This season has been pretty ordinary. Some pretty Good Talent,..But for some reason.. This season has lost the magic of the First season that brought Us Buddy Jewell as teh First crowned nashville Star. Only Time will tell if these sort of Reality TV Shows/Talent Competitions will be able to Continue.

Location: Madison, Wisconsin | I think we might have been talking about it at the tour but these kids have to sign it all away if they are in the top 10 or 12. I doubt if the really good talent is even trying out for the show. |

Location: SoCal | I enjoy Nashville Star...last year Buddy Jewell (winner) and John Arthur Martinez (finalist.) Buddy has fair amount of industry experience as a demo artist.
Jewell has sold some CD's and I understand Martinez has recently got a record contract.
At least in this case, they are musicians and song writers.
American Idol - Randy's "yo,yo,yo man" & "you the dog" encourages street punks who feel they can scream their way through a song. Heck, biggest problem is they are either off key or forget the words.
Also, Nashville Star has a better backup group. |
