Just took out the calipers and measured the Nut width on both my Custom A, which has a true 1-7/8" nut (exactly) and the JW. The JW nut width is right in the middle of 1-3/4" and 1-7/8" at 1-27/32" |

1-27/32 is a tad closer to 1-7/8 than it is to 1-3/4. But hey, why let facts get in the way of a good post.
My guess is that your JW was built to 1-7/8 and that years of playing have rubbed it down to 1-27/32. Shut up Cliff.

I had one for a week or so before giving to my friend - Josh White!
It has minimal bracing inside and the attachment of the top was so thin that you could see light where the binding was.
I hope to get another someday soon.

Very nice looker, Jeff. I had my JW out for a while over the weekend. Every time I think about selling it, I play it and think "no f&%$ing way". BTW, my nut measures 1 55.15/64", but that is subject to slide rule error. |
