Just took out the calipers and measured the Nut width on both my Custom A, which has a true 1-7/8" nut (exactly) and the JW. The JW nut width is right in the middle of 1-3/4" and 1-7/8" at 1-27/32" | ||

But hey, why let facts get in the way of a good post. My guess is that your JW was built to 1-7/8 and that years of playing have rubbed it down to 1-27/32. Shut up Cliff. Toby | ||
