Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | I see Preachers quite often, but finding one in good shape is a bit rough. It was popular in the 80's to replace pickups at least and in the case of the regular Preacher, not a bad idea. Of course the Ovation pickups are a proprietary design so the outcome wasn't very eye-catching unless someone really knew what they were doing. These are the Preachers I see a lot of. I also see ones that have obviously been played within an inch of their life. I personally don't like the stock Preacher that much compared to the others, but it would seem that a lot of people liked them almost too much and played the daylights out of them in whatever shape they were in. To answer your question, I don't find them particularly rare, just harder to find a really good one these days. It seems excellent samples of most of the others pop up quite often. |
