Before you all get too excited..No he didn't buy me an Ovation.(awwww-Too bad)
Let's Start from the beginning.
As Most of you no My 96 Pontiac Grand Bit the Dust a Couple of weeks ago. I had folks look at it, looked at a couple of other options like putting in a new engine. Neither of which could be considered because of finances.
A friend of ours offered to sell us a 1990 Buick Century 4 Cylinder kinda cheap. But I really didn't feel that great about gettng it- It already had 186,000 Miles, so I really had no idea how long it would last.
Well, I needed a vehicle at least to get to and from work. i was just about ready to take the gamble when My Dad called.
He asked me if i had bought the car yet. I told him no. He said " Don't"!
he then proceeded to tell me that he was going to get my mom a new car and they dedcided to give me
the 1985 Oldsmobile Delta Royale ! it Has just under 60,000 Actual Miles and is in really Great Shape. He asked if i wanted it.
Of Course!!!
Dad Bought me my First Real Guitar around 1975, he helped me buy my First Ovation!
He helped me get my First Car,..When it Died he helped me get a 2nd .( No he Did'nt pay for them.. he helped with the down Payment and I worked to make the payments)
Dad has always Helped out when he could in any way he Could!
I know That Mothers Day is Coming Up and Yes I have a great Mom. But everday is Fathers Day To me!
Thanks Dad!

Steve

My "hats" off to your Pop. Good Dads always fly top cover over their sons. Father's have been there. I salute him!

Great to hear about your Dad Steve. Don't forget that part of the reason he is such a nice guy is because his "best friend" may be pretty great too.

Thank your Dad and reward him by celebrating Mother's Day and rewarding his best friend!

Maybe Mom wants a ukulele!

It's good to read about all your mom's and dad's. It brings smiles to my face and brings back fond memories I have of my parents. Unfortunately, I lost my mom in 87 and my dad in 89. They were young. Mom was 56. Dad was 60. Cherish your memories, folks! My parents bought me my first to guitars -- both Harmonys (pics in the gallery).

When we Moved to North Carolina in The Summmer of 1974,..All of the Kids from around the block hung out at our house.I'm sure before it was over with..They thought there last name was Chapman.
Not a bad Thing... My folks were always cool with it. :D
