Greetings Ovation fans,

I just joined the club and am happy to be a part of it.
I have been playing Ovation guitars for over 25 years and have had the chance to have most of the models.
One of my favorites and one I still have since new is my beloved 1981 Country Artist 1624 Sunburst.
How rare is this model in sunburst color? I have never seen another one like it and want to know what you think.
I am on a quest in finding an old Country Artist model 1674, the old cutaway. let me know if you know of one for sale.
Thanks in advance for your responses happy to be here.
Best,

Country Artist

Welcome Aboard!
It's always great to hear from new Board members. Especially those who have been Ovation Enthusiasts for a long time.
From My recollection. The Country Artist was offered at one time in a Natural finish adn a sunburst finish..There may have even been a black finish offered..though i am not certain.
Out very Own Trboy owns 2 country artist models and one is a Sunburst.
You can view those in the member access area in the photo gallery.
By the way, It would be great to see some of your collection .. so post photos when you get a chance.
We all Drool alot...but we are basically harmless.
:D
again welcome aboard.

You want to take a look at TRBoy's offerings in the Photo Gallery. I suggest yo get a towel to catch the salivation that is sure to come.

A Sun... oh you'll see!

Cogentin(Benztropine Mesylate) is use for uncontrolled salivation and parkinson like symptoms. I should bring a bottle with me on the next OFC tour.

Phil :) :D :p

Phil,

It should be standard issue - right next to the truss rod wrench and the key to the case!

Welcome, Sergio!

It's an honor to have you "onBoard".

I'm a big fan of the "Exotico" CD.

Thanks Cliff and Steve for the welcoming.

Yes, TRboy has the 1674 Country Artists that I want!

I wonder if he would sell me the sunburst one.

Please!!

Serge

Serge, Trboy won't sell his cutaway Country Artist. I sent him an email and we talked on the phone about it. He really likes them. His natural one is beautiful. There was a cutaway Country Artist on ebay a few weeks ago in great shape. It went for 463 dollars. It is hard to find them in good shape. I have been looking for quite a while for a non cutaway Country Artist with no luck. Well they are out there, just beat up a little to much for me.

There is one other option. Depending on how open you are to the idea..
You could get a new Country Artist and have the factory do it in sunburst. Not sure of the charge, but it probably wouldn't cost that much to do.
just a thought.
