I think T28 owns both and can maybe comment. 12 fret dreads a very different beast. Not right for every situation, but when you need the big'ol cowboy chords these are the monsters to deliver it.

That sunburst on maple does look good but I'm more than satisfied with mine. The buffolo bros. SJ would be a good one for Moody.

In fact, only reason I made a U-turn is that I saw the word "Guitar". Had never actually seen a Collings so was curious. Didn't have too much time there (you could easily spend hours) but was really surprised that one of the Collings "burst" had markings that looked like bearclaw top. It was the CJ. "Redder", fuller burst, mahogany back & sides, Adriondack Spruce which they explained sometimes has the bearclaw effect. Not what I expected... Howver, spent a couple of minutes with the SJ RW burst...very nice. They have a picture of the SJ RW on their site. Also a number of used. Good collection of the Collings electrics. Thought interesting was several guys bringing back Taylors to get something else...maybe another model, maybe another guitar maker. Didn't have time to hang around to see. No Taks but one Ovation.

These F style mandolins from Bill Collings are among the best being made today ... period. With its Red maple back and rim and Adirondack spruce top, the Collings F has the tone of the Gods and volume that will keep a whole herd of banjo players complaining that they can’t hear themselves. Obsessive workmanship and a gorgeous tobacco sunburst finish make this mando look and feel as good as it sounds. With hard case. List: $8000 BuffaloBros. price: $7200
