If you want a uke to learn on or just mess around with, they would fill the bill nicely. The quality is quite good for the price. I don't think they are considered "serious" by the uke aficionados, though. Applause was not even mentioned in the manufacturer's list in the new book just out on the history of ukes. Roger

I'm listening to Brudda Iz (heard of him?) to get in the mood to play that uke once it shows up. The uke could bring some unique tones to an acoustic jam, huh? Here's the one I got-kinda an Adamas "matte" black look" http://www.music123.com/Applause-by-Ovation-UAE20-Ukulele-i25154.music

It is very cool, like a mini Adamas I can almost put in my pocket, pull out, and play a tune. Learn a few chords, and you're on your way. If you are an Ovation fan, invest the $129 ($179 a/e) and get a cool little instrument. I think fingering these tiny little chords will help my guitar playing. I have to listen to some more Brudda Iz and get the feel.

At 10pm she was a "2", but at 2am was was a "10". Now, Mrs Brown was probably the one you'd really want to be after (with uke in hand).
