I clearly remember the first time I played an Adamas guitar. It was at one of the music stores on 48th street in Manhatten. Probably Sam Ash. Probably around 1980 give or take a year or two (when did these things come out?).

Anyway, I owned a '73 Martin D35 at the time. Boy did that guitar have some problems... 2 trips back to the factory for work and it was never quite right. But I digress...

I tried the Adamas and thought it was kind of creepy. I remember liking the sound, but being thrown by the consistency in tone and volume from note to note. No boomy dread bottom end etc... My recollection is that each note seemed to project with equal volume.

How off is my memory?

Howdy...new here but not to my ovation....
remember playing every one in houston until i found the one that was best....
A Custom Balladeer 1112-1 sunburst. I loved that guitar...i think it was maybe 1978. Still have it and its in almost perfect shape except for where walter the moron hit it with a recoquetting kung-fu star. Too bad I have some much stuff to do or id play it more. Now I want a twelve string any suggestions?

Pacemaker or any of the others. I like the 12 fret ones better.

I'm having a little (sniff) trouble letting go...
I should have a Pacemaker up on the block here soon. It has some character as well as the deep bowl and 12 fret joint. It will fill a room with song no problem, plugged or naked!

It must go to escape setting off the SONAR when I find a solidbody and plan for the 05 OFC and possibly an OFC guitar - an Adamas.

Can you smell the ice cream guys?
