Was this solid body ever made with a three pup configuration?

TIA

Do you mean 'strat-ish' like this? Or three hummers?

This was just a quick search, so if this is home-made... oops!

OOO! OOO! Here's a better one that I'm sure ain't homemade... :D

GS3s. Humbucker and two single coils. Go to Miles' site he has bunches. Go for the ones with the Kahler bridges. I've got one with the cheaper Fulcrum bridge.

OMA,

The beige you show is like the one I'm considering.

Supposedly the one available has three Stevie Ray Vaughn EMG pick-ups. I probably would like to find some originals at some point. Pluses/minuses?

The only weak point of the GS's MAY be the neck. The reason I say "may" is some were/are quite nice. Basically if it lasted this long and is still in good shape, your good to go.

The knife switches used are a bit odd and hard to replace, but again... if lasted this long... enjoy.

And for those awaiting my usual rant...
THE most under-rated of Ovation solid bodies.

If you can find a decent strat-style body, with Dimarzio Pickups, Schaller tuners and a Kahler Tremolo, Assembled in the USA for under $600, buy it... but it still won't have the routing around the body and on the headstock that really add class (IMHO) to the guitar. Bottom line.. the pickups, bridge and tuners, are easily worth $300 any day of the week.

Thanks, Miles. Your rants always make me feel better about the $200 I spent on my GS2, thinking it was an Ultra GP.
Iffy, a friend bought one after playing mine and the neck was split from overtightening the truss rod. He got a new neck from Miles, but that kind of turned a killer deal into just a good one. Tim in Tidewater just got some of these that look pretty nice. I'd get a bunch more if I had any use for them. Look at the Kahler website and see what they want for a new bridge. That will get you looking hard at a GS with a Kahler.

There are a couple of GS2's on the bay right now.

White GS2

Blue GS2

Both with the fulcrum bridges

I think the second one is black, although it's hard to tell from the pictures. Mine has a black neck. There are about as many different colors of neck as you could imagine. Looks like some had rosewood fretboards and some maple.
I like the sound of the humbuckers on the GS2 better than what I get out of the GS3, but I don't think my middle pickup is working properly.
