I bought it for $150.00 I think. I was on a job in Omaha and needed a cheap guitar to play. Saw an add and figured I couldn't go wrong on a American made guitar. I didn't realize the neck wasn't wood until I restrund it. It came with a case and the paperwork. I find it hard to believe they are considered to be junk. The dude even threw in a strap. I own 3 Ovations. I have a Legend that I use 10 gauge elecrtic guitar strings on and it plays and sounds great. I have an Ultra Bass and the Matrix. Does this make me a strange dude?

Welcome, Jimbo. If having 2 Ovations makes you strange, then most of us are so far off the charts weird we shouldn't be allowed out in public. I had a Matrix as my only guitar for about 15 years. Then I found this place.

Be very careful of your wallet!

Oh, and on your post about the Ultra bass, Mr. Ovation or MWoody might be able to hook you up.

Most of us shouldn't be let out in public no matter HOW many guitars we own. Or at least without a leash.

Jim you'll learn, but saying "I want another guitar to add to the 2/10/20/50 I already have. Is that strange?" on this forum is guaranteed to get the same reaction (regardless of how big the stable already is): Nothing wrong with that. Another guitar will go just fine.

Welcome Jimbo. You might just be strange enough to deal with the likes of some of us that hang around SoCal ... whereabouts in the southland are you? We do try and get together from time to time ... sort of our own little 12 step deal. Of course, it don't work for s4*t. :)

It's probably similar to the matrix, the neck is not wood but the fretboard is. Sounds way better than equivalently priced all wood guitar but most non-ovation converts believe that any material other than wood automatically makes it junk.
