They have added an Ovation sign and a couple informational plaques about the LX upgrades. They now have two LXs. Don't ask me why they both are waaay up out of reach. I wonder what it would look like if the acoustic room was arranged by price rather than brand name. I guess that some folk are just brand driven. Know anybody like that? Brad

Two were shallow bowls in my price range, but the sound wasn't what I was looking for. I don't use an amp, so I needed great natural sound. The other one was over a grand and the one that came out of the back was a Balladeer around $800 (still not in my price range). I'm reading the guitar book for "Dummies" and they have a chapter on "10 guitars you should know" and not one of the ten is an Ovation. How can that possibly be?

I found Ovation by pure coincidence and fell in love with the guitar when I picked it up and pounded a tune. They are really a step-child by purist but have the best sound I have seen. I can't figure it out either. But you can only lead the flock to water............you can't make them drink!

I can just barely reach the bottom of one of the two LX's they have (one is the same as mine, Burgundy Legend LX). They have a couple of Elite's, a Std. Balladeer and some used O's. The display seems overwhelmed though by the Taylor, Gibson and Martin displays (oh well). Also, by the way for all you O fans the one of a kind wooden Roundback made by an O employee is still for sale at $4,999 is still at the GC. Play On! John L. Legend LX Balladeer LX Std. If you use the MF site to print the lower cost and go into a GC armed with your research you can argue/discuss your way to a low price. Salesmen on commission don't like that but Customers do. GC is a big Pusher of the lesser lines of Martin, Taylor and such. They will also stock a lot of Celebrity and Tacoma guitars. Their enthusiasm for Ovation USA's is growing but understated. GC is also Glen Campbell,, who was... instrumental, in the development and popularization (my word)of the Ovation guitar while W2 was hanging out in Donut Shops ;) .

They had a really nice LX display piece on the wall (clear plexi-glass with info mounted behind/around 4 hanging guitars) at a reasonable, readable height, and lots of Ovations around, probably 13 or so. The only thing was that they only had one LX, and it wasn't anywhere near the display. So someone could read about the LX details, be interested in hearing the guitar, but then end up trying one of four non LX (Celebrity model or otherwise) guitars mounted right there on the display, thinking it was an LX. Bummer. But KUDOS to Ovation for getting a nice display with info out there. Too bad the store isn't on top of things, but what can ya do? Johnny

I just MOVED there!! :-) It's right on Route 22, on the center median. (Union, . . whadda dope!) Anyway, when I was pulling out of their drive on Sunday afternoon, I see this BIG sign in the window across the street . . "Coming Soon! . . . SAM ASH!!!! . . . ." The way Route 22 is, they should put a big "scoreboard" on the side of the highway to keep a running tally of all the flattened SnapperHead "guitarists" running the gauntlet between the two stores!!! btw: THX! for coming to the solo gig last week w/Shel!! (I was hoping you woulda' come up for a tune or three . . . )
