I have seen the old three hole Hamer duotone and wonder how it compares to a modern hybrid.
Thanks,
Steve

Personally I prefer the Hamer. The VXT is a killer guitar, it's just that I don't care for the Fishman Aura technology that much. YMMV.

There's one good opinion.
Here's another.
I like the VXT better because it is all in one system with one cable, not two complete systems in one guitar that require two outputs. But I'm not a professional, just a wanker who plays weakly at the LadyFish.

GC had a used 3 hole Duotone for $999 right across from a brand new VXT for $699. Pretty tough to justify paying more for the Duotone.

699??????????????

The vxt has got to be the biggest bargain out there for a USA made hybrid guitar.

I'm with bill the one out put does it all thing is where it is at.

not like I had a guitar that did that or anything .......

Never thought about, but given that price difference, I have to go with the VXT

I'm using the VXT more often than I thought I ever would. Between it and the SSBs, the EA Vipers are taking a vacation. I was looking for a Duotone a few years back, but several other Hamers got in the way.

I know this will probably stir the pot, but I played that Taylor hybrid(can't remember what it was called) at the music store the other day and was pretty impressed. I haven't been able to get my hands on the VXT yet, but I'm pretty sure since it is an "O" that it is superior. Are there more than one version of it? (i.e., deluxe model?)

Those taylor necks are cramped to me.

I finally got to play a VXT a month or so ago. Beautiful instrument in everyway. My only problem was....the "acoustic sound" really was not as good as I had hoped it would be. My Carvin DC400P (Fishman Piezo I think) was similar in sound at the same EQ's and had a neck more to my liking.

Still searching for that perfect "all-in-one" guitar. Maybe the answer is the other direction....stick a humbucker into an Adamas?

Hmmmmmmmm. :D :D

One thing Hamer USA is known for is the quality of their workmanship. This has definitely influenced the workmanship of the VXT.
