Alway's enjoy listening to this a time or to this time of year, its a true classic.

Now if I could just learn it.

"Obie, I can understand you wanting my wallet so I don't have any money to spend in the cell, but what do you want my belt for ?"

Happy Thanksgiving

Playin' & singin' is hard enough.
Playin' & talkin' is 10 times harder.

For some of us just talking is hard enough...

"And we had never heard of a dump being closed on Thanksgiving, so with tears in our eyes we drove off into the sunset looking for another place to put the garbage."

They used to play that about a dozen times on all the Good rock stations every Thanksgiving...

"I've been singing this song now for twenty five minutes. I could sing it for another twenty five minutes.
I'm not proud...
Or tired!"

When I saw Arlo in concert back in '74 or '75, people were requesting it. He told them to go buy the record. (He did do the motorsickle song though.)

I guess he took some heat for a while from the gay community & quit doing it. but has done it since, at least some others said that on his own board.

I saw Arlo at the Springfield auditorium (Springfield Mass) around 76-77 and he did Alice's Restaurant for the first time in concert in (I think) 10 years. He announced this fact just before he started the song. Very cool. He also did a little talk on how he liked playing Springfield because when he was done, he could just drive home (lives in Washington, MA...maybe an hour's drive).

I can play the song.....and I can sing the song....just not at the same time...

:D
