It's an Adamas II. Very nice guitar, but $1500 is the top price for it.

Looks in good shape. The Ad 2 was a great guitar, just doesn't have the carving and a few other small things. 1500 might be high but I wouldn't think out of the ball park. They don't make them anymore and the 20+ years have treated this one well it looks like.

Bill, I don't think this is a 20 year old guitar. I don't believe it is an "original" adamas II. Looks like a recent custom order to me. The giveaways are 1) the finish is not the original fade type, it's the recent monotone finish, 2) the label is the newer type, 3) the $2399 list price, etc. But a very nice guitar and certainyl worth $1500. in my opinion.

That color is "bluegreen". It was offered in the mid to late 1990's.

To someone as old as us, mid 90's is "recent". Ha Ha.

Well there you go. 2004-1990s= 20something, doesn't it? Maybe I need to hire a new accountant!
The bleen didn't come till the mid 90's and they were one shade, as noted.

$400 for the case! Is it made with gold screw! Lined in genuine fore-skin?

You know, the more I look at this auction, the more I wonder about it. He doesn't have any more pics of the guitar, didn't answer the question about the serial number, and has no ebay track record. I'd be worried about buying from this person.

Without going into detail if you want an interesting reply, email the seller. I think it would definitely tell you to keep your wallet in your pocket.

Thanks...

Maybe if someone wants a collectable vintage Adamas II with the original blue fade finish, gloss neck, 2 knobber in excellent condition available from a very reliable source they should just stay tuned ...

Regarding the Adamas for sale on ebay, I just got done exchanging some emails from the "seller". He says he's played it, but can't tell you the type of preamp in it "because he's never plugged it in". He doesn't know the serial number of the guitar even tho' it's right on the label next to the model number.

Everybody, stay away from this guy. It's a scam from the get go. Nobody has bid on this guitar yet, and even if it comes back up for sale, nobody should.

You know, I was checking out a 70's Japanese ES-335 clone (except bolt on not set neck) on fleaBay. No model number, no serial number, not even a description of the condition. So, I emailed the seller, asking for some very specific information...are there any nicks, chips, dings, scratches? Do all of the electrical components function properly? What is the model number (you will find it located...)? What is the serial number (you will find it located...)?

The reply, verbatim:

"I will send you some pics."

The next email contained three pictures, one of the neck plate (which does show the serial number), one of the back of the guitar (laying face down on linoleum tile) and one of the back of the guitar propped up against a table.

No condition, no description, not even the model number. As much as I'd be interested in this particular guitar, I'm not about to take the chance on a two-feedback seller who can't respond to specific inquiries, nor include punctuation in their six word reply. Someone will get it, but it won't be me. I think fleaBay is being overrun...

EDIT EDIT EDIT:::

I just re-read the second email (the one with the pictures). I didn't catch it the first time around, but the seller sez the serial number is XXXXXX, but the picture of the alleged guitar has serial number YYYYYYY stamped into the plate.

WTF.
