Stopped into the slightly smaller Ted Brown Music tonight for strings, partial capo, fretboard oil, bread, milk, etc. Managersales points this guy to the right area for capoes and such. Completely unable to refrain I give my opinion on Kyser is best for constant changes but Schubb is better on a 12 and has a better profile - skip the elasto cheapo's unless you set it once and leave it. Fair enough - we share guitar talk. He looks at a couple of acoustics, tells me he loves his Takamine. He is left handed and had to flip it over and he may be having intonation problems and difficulty tuning. I share what I learnt from you'ins and talk about onboard tuners, adjustable bridges and Tak being a cousin of O. I pull down a 2003 Collector within arms reach - Oh yeah! Swap it out for the Elite LX standard in the Harvest Golden burst (can't remember the real color) with the book matched waving grain pattern in the top and demonstrate the OP Pro. Finger plucked a fair tune to show the jump and thump factor as he talked about saving up for one. Checking out the Manager thanked me, said he had an Adamas. I gave him an Ovation Fan Club pick and an invite. The POINT Oblio is this: You become a "Member" when you post at 20 or so. You KNOW you are a Member when you can no longer keep your mouth shut in a music store when people are making decisions based on sales hype or marketing alone. You know you are a Member when you find yourself giving two chapters or more of info from "The Book" and as much detail as an LX brosure to people in casual conversations. You know you are a MEMBER when you correct people on the pronunciation of the name "Kaman" or that "Charles" started it and "Bill" made it work when Every Red Blooded American Male at least wished he was a guitar player!

How many licks to get to the tootsie roll center......let me see, 1, 2, 3 (crunch).....it's 3, or 20 in our case to be a full fledged got nowhere else to be let me stare at my guitar while I share a few words of inspiration to someone who may care. Now, while I sip my brown liquor........This was alcohol induced, yes, yes it was. I need sleep!

There's never really been serious thought of another guitar, although I'm as guilty as anyone of trying out all the rest. I like to think if those experiences as ... support and validation!

A web page that is presented as a table, with black borders between the cells. And multiple models of every Ovation ever made listed in those cells. All those models made as hot clickable links to wonderful pictures. Picture after picture of glorious Ovation pr0n. All that, just from reading, 'Miles.' :) (the preceeding was plagiarized from my imagination)

So you search the internet and stumble upon a bunch of nuts like you who love these particular guitars as much as yourself. Then you you give Al $50 bucks to sign up! (he has to split that with Miles) Sorry Al I know you told me everyone else had to pay $100 but I am just so happy to become a member for half price I have to spill the beans! I have to tell ya I was playing my 12 string on the beach this summer with a few friends and I had a group of people walk by and stop to listen for a while. Most people just walk by and don't bother to stop. We were rocking to some Floyd and Zep and I am happy to say they were impressed with the music (that's always good to hear) but a few of them said they came over because "that guitar looked so nice" and "sounded so different from the others" In fairness to the other guy's I had the only 12 string that day, so that helped, but It was nice to see these guitars still make an impression. Our electric guitarist has now bought a black Elite to play when he's unplugged. He's going to sell his Guild. He loves the shallow body! And one woman in the group who stopped to listen on the beach, who told me she plays guitar wanted to know more about my Ovation and where they sell these? I think I may have made another sale for Ovation? But I guess you have not done your official initiation until you go back to the mother ship in the spring for the tour. I hope to make this next one? If it wasn't the fact that a trip to the Right Coast would be the exact same cost as an Adamas ME II...

Al when we get to the factory next year are you or miles bringing the chickens, or do we just bring our own? Randy

I, personally, had to send Miles a postdated check for a secret amount that he cashed the minute I became a senior member. I promised not to mention this to Al, who I sent a check of twice that amount that I promised not to mention to Miles that he cashed before I got my first post on the board causing me the embarrasment of 20 bounced checks and a visit from some New Jersey guys in wrinkled suits who made light banter about the funny side of people like me walking around on crutches if I didn't cover a certain check with cash, they also lightly mntioned that post dated checks sent through the mail accross state lines could be considered mail fraud by the other thugs who were right behind them. The preceding, of course is all a lie, but I had to do something to qualify for elective office and this is my best shot. I approve of the preceding bunch of bull---t Bailey
