Hi,

I just bought a new Balladeer LX and I want to remove one or two shims.

Are there any tricks to removing the saddles and getting to the shims ?.

Thanks

I dunno if there are any tricks. I removed one shim on mine the last time I changed strings. I simply removed the strings, lifted out the saddle, rolled up a small piece of scotch tape(sticky side out) then pressed it against the top shim and lifted it out. Then I reinserted the saddle, installed new strings, and played like a mofo enjoying the lowered action. I took one out without any buzzing problems. I may try one more next time just out of curiosity.
