Which model of Ovation has the richest or deepest (bass) sound to it? I know this is kind of "in the eye or ear of the beholder" but generally speaking.

The Mandocello.

.074" Bass string and octave.

Followed by the Longneck.

Elites with single epaulets are more bass than those with double.

what are you after?

A round hole, X braced deep bowl non cutaway should have the biggest bass for a general production guitar.
Then again the best one I've ever heard or played is Adamas #3000 (a purple ad 2) Deep cutaway soundholes only on the bass side. Something about the one side only sound holes give more bass.

Will putting a bung over the lower soundholes make the adamas have a deeper sound when played acoustically? Is that the reason for the change in the MEWP to MEII?

Thanks for your replies folks. I have made my decision and have a new addition to the collection. I’m the proud owner of a new Al DiMeola Custom legend! So far all I can say is WOW…
