I decided if I was gonna do it that I was gonna do it right.

so, I decided that if I had to drill a hole for the 1/8" jack I might as well go all the way so I grabbed my 47RI and proceeded to mount the can and the 1/8" jack.

Well, let me tell you how much it improved the iDea. The mp3s now sound CD quality and the 47RI has never sounded so good plugged in.

This new iDea preamp is just amazing.
Everybody should get one!

Dad you plug anything into the 1/8 jack or did just having the empty jack connected to the can cut down the background noise?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought the 47RI was acoustic only.

How does the Idea (the guitar) sound acoutically? Are they comparable to Tangents, MOBs, Ts? Anyone here play one?

I only have the preamp, no guitar.

I think it's basically a Chinese version of the MOB. The fact that the preamp sells for $300 alone and the guitar + preamp sells for $600 tells me a lot. Plus the fact that they sell them in Best Buy.

Someone here tried one and wasn't impressed. Sorry, couldn't find the post quickly.

I would expect a Celeb-type quality.

I played one at the Matt Smith clinic and was very impressed. The guitar was well built and played excellently. The fact that it can be bought with the iDea preamp already in it for around $600 makes it a steal of a deal.

I bought the preamp only cause I can plug it into all of my Adamas guitars.....but after playing the one at Guitars, Etc (where the clinic was held) I seriously considered picking up the whole package.

I would imagine that Al has some good deals on them. I know his price on the preamp only was excellent.

the guitar sounds pretty good. this is surprissing cause it has a distinctive "this is junk" feel to the guitar itself. but is plays easy (least the one I fondled) and it sounded ok (least in the hands of a good player) qu 4 ya , why not just put preamp into one of your existing guitars??

I just had a brainstorm, as some may know, I have 2 1778Ts - i'd be willing to part with the newer one minus preamp (which I want to keep for another guitar) the newer one came with a oppro so the iDeas should slip right in. it's totally 100%, absolutely NEW looking - plays great but :( sadly no case - pm me a phone no for details and we'll work it out (joe friendly terms - of course) and merry x mass
